Forresters Beach

Information on Forresters Beach

Forresters Beach is notable because of the length of the beach and  the backdrop of grand homes. However, the presence of large sandy dunes and dense vegetation protects your privacy on the beach.

An off-shore reef which divides the long, sandy beach is one of Forresters main attractions because it provides a challenge for even the most experienced surfers.  One local surfer claimed that the local conditions for surfers at Forresters Beach were “Totally unbelievable”.

Discovering small sea creatures, living in the southern rocky headland, is a delight for the children.

Swimmers need to be careful because  the beach is not patrolled.

Around Forresters Beach

The drive to the town is quick being only 1km from the beach.  Within the town there are a multitude of shops and several restaurants. These will satisfy  your immediate holiday requirements.  de Matteos  and Little Gull, are two well reviewed local restaurants that you can try. In addition there are dozens of good restaurants within 8 km at Terrigal, Wamberal, Toowoon Bay and the Entrance.

Visit (or stay at) the famous  Forresters Resort, which is close to the beach. However there are other closer and more modest accommodations available – particularly if you have a family.

Things to Do around Forresters Beach.

Have a round of golf.

The proximity to good golf courses is another of Forresters beach  attractions. A game of golf at  Shelly Beach  will enthrall you with the magnificent sea-front scenery. You are advised to make a prior booking because it is very popular and close to a major centre (The Entrance). Closer courses will also satisfy you – enjoy an evening 9 hole round at nearby Terrigal.  Gosford and Woy Woy have more challenging public 18 hole courses. Further on there is the excellent  Kooinda Waters  course. Playing at The Springs on the way up from or back to the city can provide a watery challenge (take some extra balls).  You also have the chance to play the challenging Magenta Shores course which is renown for the multitude of fairway bunkers

The whole Forresters  area is full of cheap or fine dining sites. These are found in the local Forrester’s township, in nearby Terrigal, Avoca, Wamberal, Toowoon Bay or at The Entrance.
Don’t think of passing up the Wamberal Beach Surf Life Saving Club which is only next door and has superb dining. If you are willing to travel south past Copacabana Bells at Killcare is a worthwhile experience.
